I had almost forgotten how much I loved this little early eighties nugget of soft rock, but Ole Smokey brought it right back for me. Plus, I don’t ever think I even knew the name of the band.

I’ve been trying to find a great album to post. Like, literally staring at my crates and attempting to will one into existence, but great albums don’t come easy.
So in the meantime, take this insanely catchy little number by Grimes that has been playing in my head all week. I love the video too, for the low budget win!
I’ve been a big fan of this tune for some time now. It’s off Van’s “His Band and the Street Choir” album from 1970 and you should probably grab it if you can.
But since I am a great guy , I found an excellent remix that Rayko did a while back, that takes the original material and makes it longer. That pretty much took care of my only complaint about the tune.

Probably one of the coolest sounding songs ever made. It may be 9am where I am right now, but if this song is on, it’s cocktail time.
Also a pretty bitchin sample used by Tribe Called Quest.
For anyone who ever heard this soft rock groover and never knew who it was, it was the James Gang. Of course this was the version of James Gang that was sans Joe Walsh, but it’s still a gem in my book!
